Economics Ph.D. Candidate at UC Santa Cruz

About Me

Hello! I am an economics job market candidate at the University of California, Santa Cruz, with an expected graduation date of June 2025. Before I came to UCSC, I taught mathematics at the College of Marin, Santa Rosa Junior College, and Napa Valley College.

Research

I am a behavioral economist whose research focuses on how behavioral biases influence asset prices. I design and conduct laboratory experiments that allow me to ascertain causal effects that may be difficult to properly isolate in observational studies. Through a careful design of the parameters in my experiments, I seek to create assets in settings where the rival hypotheses can be clearly tested. My interests are focused on the factors that affect valuation. I wish to understand how characteristics such as an asset's prior performance and the possibility that it is a superstar affect subjects' willingness to pay. I explore how subjects project payoffs of risky assets, how they value them, and how these and other factors interact with each other.
